The opportunity

Why guest WiFi works for nightclubs

A nightclub runs on peaks. The doors open, the queue builds, the floor fills, and for a few hours a room full of people is filming, posting and messaging friends. Then the lights come up and they are gone, usually without you knowing who they were or when they might come back.

Wayv turns that crowd into a list. Guests sign in with a social account or a short form, you choose what to ask for, such as an email address, mobile number or birthday, and they opt in to hear from you separately. Regulars are recognised on their next visit, so they connect without another form.

That list is how you promote the next night, a guest DJ, a ticketed event or a birthday booking, directly to people who have already been through your doors. It also lets you ask for a review after their visit, while the night is still fresh in their mind.

Benefits

How Wayv helps nightclubs

Four ways guest WiFi marketing earns its keep for nightclubs, from the first sign-in to the next visit.

Followers from the dance floor

Guests who are already sharing their night can be prompted to follow your club's social pages as they sign in, then sent to a page of your choice, such as this month's line-up.

Promote your next night

Design an email once, then send it to all guests or a segment, such as people who came last month. Promote a guest DJ, a launch night or a ticketed event to people who already know your venue.

Recognised every weekend

Returning guests connect automatically, so regulars do not fill in a form every Saturday. Each guest has a profile showing their visits, so you can spot your most loyal crowd and reward them.

Limits for packed rooms

Speed and session limits help keep the connection usable when the room is full. Guests can sit on a dedicated guest network, separate from your tills, bar systems and back-office equipment.

Inspiration

Campaign ideas for nightclubs

Each idea works by email or text, and most can run automatically once set up. Our guide to WiFi marketing has more on consent, timing and measuring results.

  1. Next-event invite

A week before a headline night, email or text everyone who has visited before. Your past guests already know the venue, so the invitation reaches people who are most likely to say yes.

  2. Birthday guest list

Collect birthdays at sign-in, then send a birthday message inviting the guest to celebrate with you, perhaps with a guest-list place or a table offer for their group.

  3. Win back lapsed regulars

Create an automation for guests who used to visit most weekends but have gone quiet. News of a new resident DJ or a themed night may be the nudge they need to return.

  4. Sign-up QR on flyers

Put a QR code on flyers, posters or your website that opens a sign-up form. Build your list before the doors open, then announce ticket releases or early entry offers to it.

FAQ

Guest WiFi for nightclubs: common questions

Will the WiFi cope when the club is packed?

We cannot promise performance without knowing your space. Guests sit on a separate network, and you can set speed and session limits to avoid congestion. For very large premises, a cloud integration such as UniFi with commercial-grade access points is usually the right route.

Do regulars have to sign in every weekend?

No. After a guest's first sign-in, Wayv remembers their device, so on later visits they connect automatically. New guests sign in once, and marketing is a separate opt-in that they can skip without losing access to the WiFi.

Can I promote events and ticket links?

Yes. Your emails and texts can include buttons and links, so you can point opted-in guests to your ticket page, your website or your social pages. Your links can point to wherever you already sell tickets, so you keep your existing set-up.
